A weekend away

This past weekend, we headed up to one of our favorite places....Vermont!  We spent 2 nights at The Essex; where we enjoyed walking on their beautiful grounds, swimming in the pool, taking a cooking class from their culinary chef, and relaxing at the spa.

Raina is ready for another adventure.  Car keys in hand....or I should say, mouth!
We headed just south of Burlington on Sunday, Father's Day to Shelburne Farms.  What an amazingly beautiful place.  It was like a little bit of heaven here on earth.  Located on 1,400 acres along side Lake Champlain is a working farm and a historic mansion.  We loved walking on the gravel paths through rolling green pastures and past the grazing Brown Swiss cows.
A 3/4 mile walk from the Farm Store where we parked, brought us to the Farm Barn.  It was so magnificent to see this huge, historic farm sitting in the middle of green rolling pastures.
We got to the Farm Barn just in time for Paul to milk a cow!!

We stopped at this bench on top of a hill with a great view.  As you can see, we needed the double stroller, not because we are expecting another child, but for all the gear we travel with!

Another stop along the way for a snack and time to play in the grass.

The Brown Swiss cows at Shelburne Farms are all grass fed rather than grain fed.  They make a great aged cheddar cheese, right there at the farm.  Yum!
Raina and daddy at breakfast.  Paul is proudly wearing his first Father's Day tie.  Raina made it for him.  Look closely to see her feet prints on the tie.

Our great friends, The Simpsons, live in Essex Junction, VT.  We loved getting together with them.  Raina had a blast hanging out with Maggie and Katie.  We are so thankful for their sweet love and attention to our daughter.
